Join us on the perfect combination of cruising with lots of time for touring cities and towns along the Croatian coastline. Guided walking tours of medieval cities of Split, Korcula, and Dubrovnik, and hand-picked tranquil islands including visits to the Mljet National Park and Sipan Island, the largest of the Elaphiti Islands. As a former headquarters of the Yugoslavian military, the lesser known island of Vis, kept closed until 1989, offers breathtaking beaches along with its fascinating history. Close by there is the island of Biševo, known for the mesmerizing naturally occurring light show of the Blue Cave. Between the expert-led land tours and exciting adventures of snorkeling and paddle boating in the water, there isn’t a more diverse, yet relaxing way to explore Croatia.

Incredible 9-day cruise along the Dalmatian Coast visiting:
Split, Trogir, Bol, Hvar, Biševo, Vis, Korčula, Mljet, Šipan/Slano, Dubrovnik

With a crew to guest ratio of 1 to four, only 15 bedrooms with convertible twin-to-queen beds, and en-suite bathrooms, the Adriatic Queen offers guests a spacious cruising experience. At only 36 ft wide and 115 ft long, she can also reach the heart of Croatia’s cities as well as the island gems. Ample common space allows for relaxation and socializing with other guests. The air conditioned cabins range from 140 to 173 square feet, and are soundproofed to ensure quiet when desired. The onboard chef will prepare breakfasts and other meals while sailing, in addition to the special Captain’s Dinner. There is always a selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase. The large sundeck with comfortable chaise loungers sits next to the more shaded area complete with a jacuzzi that seats 6. Time aboard the Adriatic Queen is all about unwinding from the daily adventures of the tours and other explorations during this remarkable trip.

We’ll be seeing ancient walled cities, tour castles, working monasteries, and enjoy a dedicated private English-speaking guide each day. In the evening we’ll visit small back alley restaurants, cafes, and bars serving delectable local dishes. Some of the features of this amazing trip:

  • Breakfast and lunch included each day.
  • Diocletian’s Palace in Split surrounded by medieval walls
  • High-end traditional cuisine and nightlife of Hvar Island
  • Zlatni Rat on Brac Island, known for its beaches and stone quarries
  • Mljet National Park with its emerald lakes and dense forests
  • Stunning views of Dubrovnik and the islands from Mt. Syrd by tram high above the city.

DAY 1, FRIDAY: Take an overnight flight from the US to Split, Croatia!

DAY 2, SATURDAY: Depart Split

We board our private yacht in Split. After getting settled in our cabins, there will be a welcome reception and dinner onboard. Overnight in Split.

Day 3, SUNDAY: Split – Trogir

This morning you will get the opportunity to stroll through the streets of Split with our private tour guide. Split is the second largest Croatian town and a UNESCO World Heritage site, best known for its glorious palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian. We will return to the boat around noon and enjoy lunch while we sail towards our first stop, the city of Trogir, another UNESCO World Heritage site. During our walking tour we will learn about the Greek, Roman, and Venetian influences on Trogir’s rich history. We will get to see the impressive architecture of Trogir’s most imposing monument, the Cathedral of St Lawrence, built in Romanesque-Gothic style. After the city tour, we will have free time to explore Trogir at our own pace before meeting up for dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Trogir.

DAY 4, MONDAY: Trogir – Bol – Hvar

In the morning, we leave Trogir and head to Bol, on the island of Brač, famous for its Golden Cape. The 530 meter long golden pebble beach changes its shape and position depending on the winds and currents. We will have time to walk around this small town, have coffee, or simply relax on the beach. After lunch on board, we head to the island of Hvar. We will see the sights with our guide and find out about its rich history and beautiful architecture. In the afternoon we can explore the town and enjoy a delicious dinner. Afterwards the more adventurous among us can experience the vibrant nightlife. Overnight in Hvar.

DAY 5, TUESDAY: Hvar – Biševo Blue Cave – Vis

This morning we set sail for the island of Biševo and its famous Blue Cave, known for its breathtaking sunlit reflections in the aquamarine water. It can only be approached by boat and sometimes access is not possible due to weather conditions. We will have lunch on board before arriving in Vis in the afternoon, well known for its strategic importance throughout history. We will have free time to explore Vis at our own pace. Because it was closed to visitors during the Yugoslavia era, it has remained unchanged for decades. Overnight in Vis.

DAY 6, WEDNESDAY: Vis – Korčula

After breakfast, we will head to the nearby island of Korčula, taking a break for a swim stop along the way. The city of Korčula is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean, and it is thought to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. After arriving in Korčula, we will first join our guide for a walking tour of the city, and then have some free time before meeting together at a local restaurant. Overnight in Korčula.

DAY 7, THURSDAY: Korčula – National Park Mljet – Šipan Island or Slano

We depart and cruise toward Pomena, on the island of Mljet. There we will visit the National Park, well known for its versatile eco-system and two salt lakes (‘’Veliko jezero’’- Big Lake and ‘’Malo jezero’’- Small Lake) and a Benedictine Monastery from the 12th century located on St Mary’s Islet. After lunch on board, we head to the Island of Šipan with its peaceful fishermen’s village, Šipanska Luka. If there are issues with the weather or docking capacity limits, we will cruise to the protected bay of Slano, situated on the mainland. In the evening, we will head back to the ship for a very special Captain’s dinner. Overnight in Šipanska Luka or Slano.

DAY 8, FRIDAY: Dubrovnik

Sailing up the coast toward Dubrovnik, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, we will get to enjoy the scenery of the Elaphiti Islands while having lunch on board.. Upon arrival, we will be driven to Old Town in Dubrovnik for our tour with a local guide. Then we will have free time to explore the rich local history. Be sure to visit some of the famous sights of the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” take a cable car ride to Srđ Mountain, or stroll along the City walls. We will share a meal at a local restaurant before returning to our ship for our final night on board. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 9, SATURDAY: Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to disembark as we board our transfer to the airport and home (unless you join us for a post-trip addition – then there is more adventure to come!).

Begun by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1453, it was the palace of the Ottoman Sultans for over 300 years and is a supreme example of Ottoman architecture. Here we will wander through its many pavilions, courtyards, and gardens, see unrivaled treasures from the collections of the Ottoman Sultans including dazzling jewelry and unique porcelain. Continue to Seraglio Point, where you are first taken to the site of the famous Hippodrome. Here you will see the obelisk of Theodosius with its 4th Century reliefs. Walk to Sultan Ahmet Camii, better known to us as The Blue Mosque. With your expert guide, you will learn that the Mosque was built in the 17th Century and is famous for its great dome, six minarets and an interior covered in blue Iznik tiles. You then visit Aya Sophia, previously the great church built by the Emperor Justinian, now a mosque. After an instructive tour you are then taken to the impressive Yerebatan Sarayi which is an “Underground Cistern” created by the Romans as a water source for both the Byzantine Emperors and later the Ottomans’ Topkapi Palace.
